Car Traffic

The diagram above shows the traffic patterns for individuals dropping off students to JCJHS by car.

Individuals dropping off JCJHS students by car should proceed all the way down to the light where the sign for the school is located and after yielding to traffic coming through the light, you should proceed down the right hand side of the drive toward the roundabout. Keep to the right and pull into the JCJHS parking lot and proceed around the loop in order to drop off students at the front of the school. Those individuals dropping off students by car should proceed all the way around the loop until you reach the third crosswalk on the left hand side of the school when facing it. (the last sidewalk leading to the front doors).(examine diagram above) This is not meant as a disservice to your child, it is simply a means of allowing as much traffic as possible to enter the loop at one time and if you stop at the first sidewalk or center sidewalk it backs traffic up behind you causing congestion issues. The distance your child has to walk is approximately the same for each one of the sidewalks. Please pull all the way down to the far sidewalk on the left hand side of the building in order to help keep the traffic congestion down and the flow moving as it should. Thank you.

Also, when exiting the loop for JCJHS, the traffic officer will give command for you to proceed, go around the right hand side of the roundabout. (Stay to the left unless you have Blount Elementary students to drop off - turn right into Blount's parking lot if you need to drop off elementary students.) Head down the long drive to the light and proceed either left or right onto Ray Thorington Road or straight into the parking lot for the sports fields across Ray Thorington Road.
